Somatic Manual Therapy for Anxiety in Asheville
Experiencing occasional anxiety is a normal part of life, especially during major changes in life. However, people with anxiety disorders frequently have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Often, anxiety disorders involve repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes (panic attacks).
Anxiety can interfere with daily activities, work and personal commitments, relationships, and overall health. Symptoms may start during childhood or adolescent years and continue into adulthood. Common signs of anxiety may include: feeling nervous and tense, having a sense of impending panic or doom, increased heart rate, breathing rapidly, sweating, trembling, and/or feeling weak, experiencing digestive issues, having trouble sleeping, and trouble concentrating.
Balanced Manual Therapy offers several gentle, hands-on treatments for reducing anxiety, balancing the nervous system, supporting PTSD symptoms, and providing gentle trauma resolution through imagery and dialogue.
