Craniosacral Therapy in Asheville, NC

Craniosacral Therapy has become increasingly popular over the years due to its effectiveness in supporting a wide range of health conditions.

It is a gentle hands-on technique that examines membranes and movement of the fluids in and around the central nervous system. Craniosacral Therapy enhances the craniosacral system, which is comprised of cerebrospinal fluid that protects the brain and spinal cord. By releasing restrictions within the craniosacral system, a Craniosacral Therapist is able to improve the function of the central nervous system resulting in improved mood, sleep, digestion, and overall health.  Craniosacral Therapy can also be an effective treatment for headaches, migraines, TMJ disorder, PTSD, general anxiety, and many of the conditions listed below.

By facilitating the body’s natural and innate healing processes, Craniosacral Therapy is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, while alleviating restrictions and adhesions caused by surgeries, motor vehicle accidents, a sedentary lifestyle, chronic stress and anxiety, PTSD, fatigue, autoimmune disorders, and other structural imbalances in the body.

Dali has received her Craniosacral Therapy credentials from the renowned Upledger Institute, where she obtained her certifications in Craniosacral Therapy Level I, II and III including Somato-Emotional Release and Pediatrics Craniosacral Therapy.  When necessary, she integrates Brain Balance Therapy, which allows the treatment to go even deeper into the specific nuclei structures of the brain.  This combination is what makes Dali’s treatments unique and highly effective for many of the conditions listed below.

How to prepare for your session

Receiving Craniosacral Therapy can be a deeply relaxing experience for your whole body, and it may take a little time to process and integrate the changes after a treatment. Ideally, you would not be scheduled to do anything physically, mentally, or emotionally rigorous after a session. Give yourself some time to integrate the subtle, yet powerful changes you will experience in your body in the days to come.

Sessions are done fully clothed and it is advisable to wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes so the therapist can easily access the spine.

FAQs

How long does a Craniosacral Therapy Session last?

Sessions for this treatment are 60 minutes long.  I do not offer longer treatments because it can take a few days for the body to recalibrate, and overwhelming the body would be counterproductive.

What is Craniosacral Therapy used for?

Craniosacral Therapy is beneficial for a wide range of conditions.  Most people find it useful for stress and anxiety, headaches and migraines, depression, panic attacks, traumatic brain injury, whiplash, TMJ dysfunction, grief, vertigo, major life changes, and general imbalances in the body.  Children and infants also  benefit from this modality, as it is gentle in nature.

How many Craniosacral Therapy sessions will I need to see results?

This will largely depend on what health condition(s) you are dealing with, and what goals you have for recovery.  For instance, if you had a recent concussion or whiplash, it can take 3-6 treatments to start resolving imbalances from the accident.  For chronic headaches, it can take 2-6 treatments to reduce them, depending on how long you have had them. Multiple treatments are best when you want to see long term results from the therapy.  That being said, I have seen significant results take place in just 1-2 treatments.

How will I feel after a Craniosacral Therapy session?

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle modality and most people experience a calmer state of mind, less stress and anxiety, improved functionality in the brain and rest of the body, and less aches and pains.
