Brain Balance Therapy for Traumatic Brain Injury – Heal the Brain Naturally

traumatic brain injury

Getting into a motor vehicle accident, or any type of serious accident, can be a traumatizing event that may cause long term physical and emotional damage.  Many people don’t realize that symptoms can occur weeks to months later, or certain symptoms that show up may not seem related to the accident, but indeed are.

Whether you’ve experienced a traumatic brain injury, whiplash, migraines/headaches, mental fogginess, vision issues, digestive issues, or emotional trauma after an accident – know that you can get  the necessary support to help you rebalance your system.  Many people are away that massage, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and physical therapy can help expedite the recovery process.  But, have you ever heard of manual brain therapy as a powerful recovery tool for traumatic brain injury and some of the symptoms noted above?

Brain Balance Therapy was developed by Dr. Bruno Chikly, MD (France), DO (France, It.), LMT (AZ), and the founder of the Chikly Institute. He is a graduate of the Medical School at Saint Antoine Hospital in France, where his internship in general medicine included training in endocrinology, surgery, neurology, and psychiatry. Dr. Chikly also earned the United States equivalent of a master’s degree in psychology from Paris XIII University, France.

Dr. Chikly extensively studied osteopathic techniques and other hands-on modalities, both in Europe and the United States, including Manual Lymphatic Therapies, Osteopathy in the Cranial Field, Biodynamics program in Osteopathy, CranioSacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Mechanical Link, Muscle Energy, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, SomatoEmotional Release, Orthobionomy,  and Oriental medicines.

Dr. Bruno developed a Brain Balance Curriculum that takes us to the next realm of manual therapy. It explores the brain, spinal cord, white matter, grey matter, and also the brain nuclei such as corpus callosum, septum pellucidum, indusium griseum, fornix, thalamus, globus pallidus, amygdala, hippocampus, brainstem, cerebellum, etc. The body often aligns itself around these precise structures, and they are frequently unaddressed key/dominant tissue restrictions.

The techniques presented in brain balance therapy are gentle but very effective in helping pathologies such as closed-head injuries, traumatic brain injury, whiplash, headaches, dyslexia, cerebral palsy, cognitive behavioral dysfunctions, learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, and Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.

During a session, the pracitioner will work with the cranial meninges (the section that covers the brain) to release any restrictions, the brain ventricles that hold the cerebrospinal fluid, the nuclei that perform certain functions, as well as integrating craniosacral therapy into the mix to release restrictions in the cranial and fascial bones (including jaw bones, if required).
